Foreign students registering at Université Grenoble Alpes
The Master in Physics benefits from an exceptional research environment, as evidenced by

Registering at 1st year level
Students from foreign universities with a C1 French level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and at least 3 years of academic background in fundamental Physics (Bachelor degree in Physics) are warmly welcome to apply at M1 level. In your application, you will need to specify which M1 track you wish to follow (both are taught in French):
If you are interested by one of our thematic programs, make sure to apply also at the Graduate School. This is an independent application. If you are asking for a 2-year scholarship, be aware of the deadline (usually before May).Registering at 2nd year level
If you already have a M1 level in fundamental physics (or equivalent), you can directly apply at the 2nd year (M2 level) in the following tracks:
- ASTRO: Astrophysique (taught in French)
- MQ : Matière Quantique (taught in French)
- PMRHE : Physique Médicale et Radioprotection de l’Homme et de l’Environnement (taught in French)
- PSC : Physique Subatomique et Cosmologie (taught in French)
- TMA: Turbulence, Méthodes et Applications (taught roughly 60% in French, 40% in English)
